The care packages my mom sent to me when I was in college bring back such great memories. I love to surprise our kids too, so I put together St. Patrick’s Day Care Packages full of green treats to send to them. Our kids budget the money they save over summer break, so receiving goodies in the mail is fun for them.
For a few weeks I picked up green items here and there. It was really fun to buy snacks in green packaging, shirts, socks and a few other items. Follow along to see what I put together for my son and daughter who are away at college.
This post is about putting together a St. Patrick’s Day care package for college students.

HOMEMADE ST. PATRICK’S DAY TREATS
These St. Patrick’s Day Care Packages are the actual boxes that I mailed to our college kids to surprise them. To make the boxes even more special, I measured the flaps of the box and cut decorative paper to fit. I then used double stick tape to attach the pieces to the box flaps. Even though the boxes already looked festive, I cut “Lucky You” on my CriCut to add to the tissue paper. I also folded some green tissue paper to add more fun to the box.
Lots of fun was put into these St. Patrick’s Day care packages because I wanted to send something different. This care package started with a plan to find lots of green items. I just had to send something homemade, so I had some fun making green goodies. Treats included frosted Shamrock sugar cookies, peanut butter blossoms in green and Rolo pretzels.

I arranged the goodies onto Shamrock shaped plates, covered with plastic wrap and tied with ribbons. CLICK HERE to see my post on easy-to-make St. Patrick’s Day treats.
THE GOODIES INCLUDED IN THIS ST. PATRICK’S DAY CARE PACKAGE
Shopping for green, shamrock themed gifts for this St. Patrick’s Day care package was super fun. You don’t have to spend a lot, just add a few fun things to open up. Some items I put in the kid’s care packages were green tee-shirts, snacks, a hair clip, socks and shamrock glasses. Girls are way easier to shop for than boys, although my son would rather have the junk food anyways. My favorite was the Lucky Charms bag of marshmallows.
