This post is all about my Valentine’s Day Decorations.

Decorating for any holiday makes me happy because it makes other people happy. I really like decorating for our family because I know they love the cozy feel it adds to our home. My Valentine’s Day decorations are a mix of fun DIY decor and a few new pieces I picked up. Add some romance with a couple heart pillows.

1 | VALENTINE’S DAY DECORATIONS TO CREATE A CHARMING TABLE TOP
The LED candles on our table were plain, so I wrapped them with some twine and added red burlap hearts. I secured the ends of twine to the candle with just a little glue. The red, glitter hearts purchased at the Dollar Store were a perfect Valentine’s Day decoration. The hearts were the perfect pop of color, so I added them to the little plants on the table. Swapping out the table runner for each holiday is another easy way to create a festive atmosphere.

2 | SIMPLE DIY BEAD GARLAND PERFECT TO HANG ON THE MANTEL
The chunky beads and burlap hearts were a great find and they were also 40% off at Hobby Lobby. Using some creativity, I strung the large beads and burlap hearts together to create garland for our mantel.

Small command hooks attached to the top of the mantel hold the bead garland in place. The white XOXO letters placed between the two table top hearts really popped. They were also purchased at Hobby Lobby. I love how this Valentine’s Day decoration stands out against the stone.

3 | ADD SOME LOVE TO YOUR RAILING
Using a needle and embroidery thread, I strung the beads and hearts together just like the DIY mantel garland. Instead of the felt hearts, I used some heavy cardstock hearts. These hearts were also found at Hobby Lobby.

4 | ADD SOME ROMANCE TO YOUR VALENTINE’S DAY DECOR WITH A DIY WREATH MADE OF RIBBONS
This heart-shaped wall hanging from the Dollar Store was a little too plain, so I gave it more character. I cut long pieces of ribbons and toule to wrap and tie on the wooden heart. I added ribbon until the wreath looked finished and then trimmed the uneven edges.

I’m really happy with the way this wreath turned out because the pinks and reds pop against the white background.

5 | PAINTED WINE BOTTLES UPCYCLED INTO VALENTINE’S DAY DECORATIONS
Not only are these painted wine bottles beautiful Valentine’s Day Decorations, they are super fun and inexpensive to make. Click Here to see my DIY tutorial. You can use these as table top decor, a vase or candle holders.

6 | CONVERSATION HEARTS VALENTINE’S DAY DOLLAR TREE VASE
This homemade Valentine’s Day Decoration is such an easy and adorable way to show a bouquet of flowers. I found two vases at the Dollar Store. The smaller vase fit nicely inside the larger vase. I added Conversation Hearts in between the smaller and larger vases. Finally, I added a small bouquet of flowers and mixed in a few pink, glitter hearts from the Dollar Store. That’s it.

7 | ADD A CUTE DISH TOWEL TO YOUR KITCHEN
A simple dishtowel can add a touch of love to your kitchen.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day
There are several stories surrounding the history of Valentine’s Day, but this is the story that makes sense to me. The legend is about Saint Valentine, who was a priest in Rome around the third century. He was imprisoned for secretly marrying young couples and helping Christians escape from prisons. While in prison, he fell in love with a young girl who visited him. Before he died, it is said that he wrote the girl a love letter signed “From your Valentine.” This story may not be exact, but this girl may have received the first Valentine, I find it romantic.
Celebrate by sending cards, candy, flowers, a Galentine’s night out (February 13), dinner or a quiet movie at home. Decorating for this holidays fills our house with love.
